The History of the Mongol Rally

A few years ago a group of friends were deciding on how to spend their British summer holiday. Inspired by an adventure with a cause they set about planning an overland journey one third of the way around the globe that would ultimately benefit the people of their final destination Mongolia.

In the summer of 2003 a handful of cars assembled in London’s Hyde Park and departed on the maiden Mongol Rally. Every year since more and more teams have entered this fantastic charitable event with a total of 500 teams taking part in this year’s event, 300 of them departing from London.

Last year’s Mongol Rally raised over £200 000 for charity and with more teams leaving this year that target is set to be overtaken. Help us to make sure we leave it well behind!
